We chose an inclusive, progressive denomination in which to raise our kids, the United Church of Christ, and the local congregation is ever-growing. Today two members presented a beautiful banner that they commissioned (the artist is Nicole Dunn) in honor of two Catholic saints who were reformers of the church, St. Francis and St. Clare. This piece includes flora and fauna of Northern New Mexico, local birds, the late schnauzer of the couple who commissioned the piece, and the minister's dog, Bella.
The work celebrates ordinary people doing extraordinary things. As the minister said, "Let God love you, and see what happens then."
